Author Michelle McGriff gives readers an up close and personal look at her weight loss struggle. Her goal is to reduce the risk for diabetes which run rampant in her family as well as hypertension and other silent killers.Resources Septemer 2010 As always this month I make my resolutions. I can't get on the ride with others who do it on New Years.. it never works when you go with the crowd. I've noticed that when I set my goals in September I usually reach them... as some are only 120 day goals.. on purpose and I find that helps me stay motivated. Summer weight loss was no existant. I didn't gain alot, about 5 pounds that I keep losing and gainng back. THUS my first goal is it aim for 10 solid pounds. My significant other says no, but you know me, I'm stubborn and know what I like for my own body and in the end he will like it too. When I feel cute, I act cute hheehe. Second goal... finish chapter 4 of my dissertation by mid October at the VERY latest. I have to graduate in March. It's my goal and plan and well, I'm locked and loaded on this. PLUS I'm out of money ughhhh... it' been so very stressful but I try not to think about it. Start house hunting on the coast. Well yeah "house" is part of the big dream, I'm sure it will be an apartment to start. Now this move is only coming under some conditions.. a job on the coast or NO job period and so.. why not move to the coast ... right? There are some material goals I have but I'd rather not put those up here as they are kinda out there ... some of them and they involve alot of ORANGE hahah. But FOOD... okay yes, I had thought long and hard about going RAW this year, but I can't do it. I can't even give up the whites this year. I'm such a food wimp... but I do plan to do a better job of maintainng good eating habits. I tend to drift back to some bad ways wayyyy to easily. I'd blame it on cooking for a meat eater but that wouldn't be fair. What I cook, I don't eat for the most part and that doesn't bother me, and actually I've been cooking pretty healthy NON-vegan stuff. I'm planning to add those recipes to my alternative section of the book. Many of my friends really a great summer of weight loss. They set goals and met them, and I'm really happy for them. I gave my Wii to my grandkids.. WHAT??? I know so I actually had to FIND some money to get another one haha. So I'm back on my golf roll and this game actually has fencing too so.. I'm ready. My friend Gayle told me about the Walk it Out dancing one... so I'ma get that one later. Writing is all over the place and I really need to get focused... things are getting finished but not with order and priorty so I'm really going to work on focus over the next few months... it's causing everything else to get out of whack... eating after 7pm and all that bad stuff. REALITY BITE: Gained 5 pounds that stuck to my butt like GLUE. You really can't go back to bad eating ways and expect it not to start showing on the body, face and mood. I'm back at a solid 185... yuck. Aiming for 170... GOOD NEWS: On my last 2 chapters of my dissertation. Still VERY much in love and living above board and in the open. Decided to avoid judgemental people and to stop ASKING for abuse... that way when it comes I can feel within my rights to DEMAND it to stop. GOALS: Move to the OREGON COAST! Get a teaching job!!!! Lose 15 pounds. Cooking your own food is the key in eating for good health in my opinion. With that in mind I am really and for truly working on a cook book. It focuses on Vegan meals but will offer some alternatives for those how cook for meat eating loved ones: Eating Right For The Vegan Who Writes © Michelle McGriff, 2009.
